France, Italy prepared for Fed Cup QF tussle
Orleans, France (Sports Network) - Host France will face Italy in a Fed Cup quarterfinal battle this weekend at Orleans' Palais du Sport.
The best-of-five tie will commence Saturday with a pair of singles rubbers, as France's Amelie Mauresmo will open up against Flavia Pennetta, followed by a bout between Alize Cornet and Italian Francesca Schiavone on the indoor hardcourt here.
Sunday's reverse singles will pit Cornet against Pennetta and the two-time major champion and former world No. 1 Mauresmo versus Schiavone, while Sunday's doubles matchup will have a French duo of Severine Bremond and Nathalie Dechy facing an Italian duo of Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci.
